About Our Service
What areas do you service?
We currently offer services to Virginia residents living within these areas: Annandale, Burke, City of Fairfax, Dunn Loring, Fairfax, Merrifield and Springfield.
Do you offer mobile or curbside drop-off services?
Yes! You may drop-off your pet or we will come to you, whichever is most convenient.
Do you offer any discounts?
We offer promotions from time to time. Please watch our website for promotions and/or discounts.
Are you available on holidays? Do you charge extra on these days?
We are available 365 days a year, including holidays. There is no additional charge for holiday visits at this time.
What should I do if I need to cancel an upcoming booking?
We believe that having a conversation about your cancellation is the most appropriate and flexible approach. To cancel, please first contact your pet care provider directly and then call or email our office. We want to work with you.
Is there a minimum number of visits required?
No. We do not require a minimum number of visits. You may book us for one visit, multiple visits or recurring visits.
Do you provide a written service contract?
Yes. You will have the opportunity to review and sign our client contract at your meet and greet with your pet care provider.
What type of payment options do you offer and when is payment due?
PBJ Pet Care Service accepts cash or check on delivery of service or (preferred method) online payment through our website.
How do you access my house?
PBJ Pet Care Service requests two working copies of your house key at least one day prior to your scheduled service. Both keys will be coded with a number and logged in our system. One key will stay with your pet care provider and the other kept in a secure locked system while coded for customer’s confidentiality. You may request your keys be returned after services are complete ($5.00 convenience charge) or keep your keys in our secure locked system until future scheduled services.
Will you board my pet?
We do not offer boarding at this time.
How do I get started with you? What is the process?
Please check out the services we offer and click “Book a Service” on our website to connect with us for your pet care needs. You may also call our office or email us.
How do you work with recurring customers?
You may book a recurring service on our Book a Service page using the returning client button.
About Our Pet Care
How do you know what my pet's needs are?
Your PBJ Pet Care Service provider will have a conversation with you about your pet's needs and fill out a pet profile card for your pet on your meet and greet consultation.
Will I always have the same pet sitter or dog walker?
Yes. PBJ Pet Care Service strives to make sure your pet receives loving care from the same pet care provider. We believe in consistency to build the familarity needed to forge that trusting relationship with your pet. Only then will they feel safe and comfortable with us. We only substitute providers in cases of emergency, illness or a change in employment status.
Will you send me a picture of my pet during your visit?
Yes! PBJ Pet Care Service providers are happy to text you pictures of your pet during their visit.
Are you comfortable caring for senior pets?
Yes! We love pets of all ages!
What type of pets do you care for?
We are experienced in care for animals living inside your home including (but not limited to) birds, reptiles, amphibians, rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, mice and of course cats and dogs.
What happens if my pet becomes sick or injured?
Your PBJ Pet Care provider will notify you immediately via your preferred communication method. If appropriate, your provider will also seek immediate veterinary care with the preferred veterinarian listed on your Pet Profile card.

Are you licensed, bonded and insured?
Yes, we are fully bonded and insured. There are no professional licensing requirements in the state of Virginia at this time for this line of work. Please find a copy of our proof of insurance here.

Our pet care providers have 2 plus years of experience working with animals.

We provide references upon request and you can read our testimonials here.
Who are you affiliated with?

Why do we add a surcharge for holidays? Which holidays are included?
Many of our pet care providers have families and as a way to thank them for the time they are spending away from their family we decided to add a surcharge. The holidays which incur a surcharge are: Easter, Thanksgiving Thursday and Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and the day after Christmas, New Year's Eve and New Year's Day.
